Cantina Giovanni

That’s the Giovanni’s Cantina in Guarulhos. A nice restaurant and we can eat the good Italian food. Always it remembers me that Sundays lunch in my grandmother’s house. It´s located in Timoteo Penteado avenue.

Cantina Giovanni, em Guarulhos. Um belo restaurante para se comer aquela boa comida italiana, que sempre me faz lembrar os almoços de domingo da casa da minha avó. Está localizada na Av Dr Timóteo Penteado.

Small drops in the ink lines

Purposely I left this sketch uncolored for two reasons. First, at the last Sunday the day was a gray with forecast rainy. You can see some dots of inkblot on the paper. I had to do this sketch quickly, spent 10 minutes. I intend to paint digitally this sketch, is the second reason, as evaluate some techniques and possibilities than I have been reading on some forums.

That is the Doctor Timóteo Penteado Avenue, in the neighborhood Picanço, in Guarulhos city.



Gotas de chuva que borraram a tinta


Propositalmente eu deixei este sketch não colorido por dois motivos. O primeiro foi que domingo passado estava um dia muito cinza e ameaçando chuva, dá para ver alguns pontos de tinta borrada no papel. Precisei fazer este sketch em 10 minutos. O outro motivo é que ainda pretendo colorir digitalmente este sketch, para avaliar algumas ténicas e possibilidades que tenho lido em alguns fóruns.


Esta é a Avenida Dr. Timóteo Penteado, na altura do bairro Picanço, em Guarulhos.

Bosque Maia - Guarulhos

The Bosque Maia is in my opinion one of the most beautiful park of my city, Guarulhos. There people go to do many different activities, some go to walk, others to run, children ride bikes and play soccer and others go to play board games. It’s located near the center of the city, and my home too, and easily accessible.

In that sketch I drew at the outside view from that park.

 

O Bosque Maia é na minha opinião um dos lugares mais bonitos da cidade de Guarulhos. Lá as pessoas fazem as mais diversas atividades, como caminhar, correr, crianças andam de bicicleta e jogam futebol e ainda outros jogam Dama. Está localizado perto do centro da cidade e é de fácil acesso.

Neste sketch, eu desenhei uma vista do lado de fora do park, na calçada oposta.

Banespa's building seen from the north

The pallet needed to paint the skyline of Sao Paulo is no more than the gray scale, because the pollution layer is too dense and we have been seeing a dense fog gray covering the city. I couldn't saw from the upper side of the north zone the mountains on the south where starting the sierra of the sea, in that day.

A bit on the right and behind, there is the Banespa's building, resized to larger proportion for his signification in the city's center.

A palete necessária para pintar a skyline de São Paulo não vai além de tons de cinza. A camada de poluição é tão densa que vemos somente uma névoa cinza cobrindo a cidade. Do alto da zona norte, neste dia não dava para ver as montanhas além da zona sul, onde inicia a serra do mar.

Um pouco mais a direita ao fundo o edifício do Banespa valorizado em suas proporções pela sua significância em relação a todos os outros.

Japanese Food

In São Paulo you can found restaurants of various cultures. There is many Italians, Frenches, Japaneses and exotic too like a Indian food. I like Japanese food, and sometimes I go with my coworkers to any there. I made this watercolor in Koday, at the Voluntários da Pátria Street after a pleasant lunch.
Yet, I had do not made any sketch's foods on my sketchbook. This is the first one.

Em São Paulo você pode encontrar restaurantes de diversas culturas. Aqui existem vários restaurantes Italianos, Franceses, Japoneses e até mesmo alguns exóticos como aqueles que servem comida indiana. Eu gosto de experimentar novas combinações, mas a comida Japonesa muito me agrada e as vezes vou com meus colegas de trabalho a algum deles. Esta aquarela eu fiz no Koday, que fica na Rua Voluntários da Pátria, após um agradável almoço.
Ainda não havia feito um sketch sobre comida neste meu sketchbook. Achei interessante começar por este aqui.

Church of Our Lady of Rosary

I think is very amazing the church of Our Lady of Rosary, in Guarulhos. For a few months I have been passing front that every morning when I go to work and either when a I come back to home. It´s nearby my home and sometimes I frequent the mass on Sunday with my family. In the the past Saturday morning I invite my daughter to make some sketches of that, we sat on the opposite side of the Avenue St. Louis, nearly 20 minutes, sufficiently to drew, me on Molesquin and the Amanda in her notebook. This is my point of view of that amazing church.

A igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário em Guarulhos é uma construção que acho muito simpática. Há alguns meses passo todos os dias em frente, de manhã quando vou ao trabalho e também quando volto para casa. Este igreja fica bem perto de casa e algumas vezes assinto a missa do domingo com a minha família, até que sábado passado pela manhã convidei a minha filha para fazer alguns sketches da fachada. Ficamos sentados na Avenida São Luis por aproximadamente 20 minutos, que foi tempo suficiente para o registro a lápis, eu no Molesquine, e a Amanda no caderno de desenhos dela.

Amanda's Job - She have 6 years

This is our participation in the #24 sketchcrawl world wide. I and my daughter went to the Lago dos Patos - Lake of the ducks-,Guarulhos, and we had a nice Saturday morning there. That is one touristic place of my city, nearby my home, and has a central lake with lot of ducks and a lot of trees around. That lake and ducks is the origin of his name.

Skyline, trees and buildings of Braz Leme

It´s one more sketch that I made in my lunch break on Friday on my moleskine. I ate quickly snacks in Mc'Donnalds and went to that place to sketch the skyline and buildings. The Braz Leme Street is one more beautiful place in north of São Paulo, in my opinion, and have some good restaurants and Fest-Foods...I like the cerulean blue for the sky, it looks blue but have a bit of green. I like too the light yellow color of the Moleskine's page.

Adamastor

I think is funny the reaction of people when they see us drawing in the street. Drawing is an activity usually do by kids, but an adult drawing at street could be more rarer as ET of Varginha. I was siting in front the Adamastor build, in this place there is an car parking.

Some people went looking me, other do not bother to look, because I think they believes in drawing is wasting time on futile things. I do not believes it. But I can remember the beautiful smile to me of a girl when she passed. She is not pretty, but I think she is graceful. Perhaps, she likes art.

More knowledge as Adamastor (Centro Municipal de Educação), that is a place of education and culture of the municipality of Guarulhos city

My daughter has a box of colored pencils, crayons, inks and markers. All of this items is student's grade. She has 6 years and usually, when I go to draw, she take her box and she draw with me.

At this time I asked her to stay quiet for a few minutes...

Minha filha tem um estojo de lápis de cor,  giz de cera e canetinhas. É um estojo escolar. Ela tem seis anos, mas sempre que vou desenhar ela pega este estojo e senta comigo para fazer alguns trabalhos.

Nesta ocasião, eu pedi para ela ficar por alguns minutos parada.

Funny strokes and better watercolor

At my home, I have no tool to create better light when I take an photo of my drawings. I need to wait the sun light to do this. I usualy go to work at seven hour and go back to after sunset. Almost, I have no time to shoot.

This drawing I made in the last tuesday. I invited my daughter to draw. She has six years and is already learning to draw.

I´m feeling so good with the watercolors, but I think that I need to learning more to make better control of the washes.. I like very much this portrait in the left... at the right, one funny pict with fast strokes by colored pencils... It's look like the oldest styles of clothes (Seriously, this is out of fashion here lol).

Em casa eu não tenho nenhuma ferramenta para criar um boa iluminação para fotografar meus sketchbooks... Geralmente eu preciso esperar pela luz do sol para que possa conseguir uma boa imagem, mas nem sempre isso é possível. Costumo ir para o trabalho às sete da manhã e neste horário a luz do dia ainda não é boa, e chego em casa bem depois do por do sol. Este desenho eu fiz na terça-feira passada, e só agora consegui editar. Lembro que neste dia convidei a minha filha para desenhar e ela fez um trabalhinho dela. Ela tem seis anos e já está sendo inicializada nas artes.

Estou a cada dia me sentindo melhor no controle da aquarela, mas eu sinto que ainda preciso estudar muito mais para ter um melhor controle. Gostei muito deste retrato que fiz a esquerda. E a direita, um tema mais descontraído, de linhas rápidas com lápis de cor, retratando um casal dos anos 20, e o velho estilo das roupar. (é sério, isso já está fora de moda por aqui...)

Cathedral of Nossa Senhora da Aparecida

At the lastest Sunday I travelled with my family to the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora da Aparecida (Saint Mary of the Aparecida) in the Aparecida do Norte City, nearby São Paulo and São José dos Campos Cities. The Aparecida is an small city with an basically rural jobs economy, but the religious tourism is very important for the city. This is sketches from the Cathedral, two of the interior and one outdoor of the back side..

I carried my Moleskine, some material for sketching and my camera. The parents of my wife are Catholic and I'm Spiritist (the religion started by Allan Kardec)... I like place´s that make me feel more peace.
